JOB TITLE: Daycare Aide
 
RESPONSIBLE TO: Daycare Supervisor
 
JOB FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Work cooperatively and respectfully with coworkers
• Ability to multitask/pick up on Facilitators cues
• Playing on the children’s level
• Dressing and undressing children
• Cleaning classrooms daily
• Diaper changes/Potty training
• Clean tables after each meal
• Sweep floors under meal tables
• Sweep and vacuum daily
• Prepare snacks and meals
• Retrieving meals from the kitchen upstairs
• Take out the trash
• Take children outside for walks and to the playground
• Assisting on field trips
• Assisting at nap time
• Dishes- loading and unloading dishwasher, washing dishes
• Meeting children on their individual level
• Bottles/feeding infants
• Eat meals with children (Family style)-Communication throughout meals about daily activities
• Inform Facilitator when inventory is low or equipment needs repair
• Report concerns regarding children to Facilitator in a timely matter
• Attend meetings as requested
• Responsible for the health, welfare and safety of children in designated groups
• Assist in Intergenerational activities
• Abide by applicable policies and procedures
• Complete paperwork on children daily
• Flexibility to move to other positions
• Possess a sincere commitment to the philosophy of Suncrest Daycare and LCMCF
• Preform all other duties as assigned not listed above

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lifting/ Carry -50 pounds
• Pull/Push – 50 pounds
• Standing
• Squat
• Kneel
• Stretching
• Climbing
• Bending / Twisting

RISK EXPOSURE

• Tasks assigned to this position involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood or body fluids.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

• Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes, as required. 
• Attend and complete monthly mandatory in-services.
• Complete a minimum of 24 hours yearly

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduate
• Prefer Child Development associates or willing to obtain
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
• Must be able to read, follow oral directions and writer legibly.
• Must be honest, trustworthy and possess tolerance for all individuals.
• Must be able to communicate with other departments.
• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
• Good Customer Service Skills, Reliable, Organization Skills.
• Ability to adapt to different situations and change work processes to accommodate children and the center’s needs.

I understand that as a result of my employment, I may be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants and hazardous chemicals and that the facility will provide to me instructions on how to prevent and control such exposures. I further understand that I may also be exposed to the Hepatitis Virus and that the facility will make available to me, free of charge, the hepatitis B vaccination. I understand that my employment is at-will and thereby understand that my employment can be terminated at will either by the facility or myself and that such termination can be made with or without notice.
