Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Lantern Crest Senior Living in Santee, California. This is a full-time position in the Hospitality/Restaurant department. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our residents while upholding high quality and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for residents according to menus and dietary requirements
- Ensure all meals are prepared and presented in a timely and organized manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work station and kitchen area
- Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Assist with menu planning and recipe development
- Follow all sanitation and safety regulations
- Train and mentor other kitchen staff as needed
- Keep inventory of food and supplies and place orders as needed
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and trainings
- Communicate with residents to address any food allergies or preferences
- Other duties as assigned by the Chef or management team
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Cook, preferably in a senior living or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of and experience with different cooking methods and techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
- ServSafe certification is preferred, but not required
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
