Job Description:
Lano Equipment is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Parts Manager to join our team. The Parts Manager will play a crucial role in managing the parts department and ensuring efficient operations to support our customers' needs. This individual will oversee the day-to-day activities of the parts counter, including inventory management, customer service, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the parts counter operations, including inventory control, ordering, stocking, and distribution of parts for heavy equipment.
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of parts orders, inquiries, and returns, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
- Collaborate with the service/sales departments and our 2 other branches to fulfill parts requests and support equipment maintenance and sales activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing of parts.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize obsolete parts, and reduce costs.
- Train, mentor, and supervise parts counter staff, providing guidance on product knowledge, customer service skills, and department procedures.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers.
- Utilize computerized systems and software to track inventory, process orders, and generate reports for management analysis.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and technological advancements to provide informed recommendations to customers and colleagues.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and training sessions as required by the company.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in parts within the heavy equipment industry.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment parts, including identification, sourcing, and pricing.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
