Salary/Wage Range: $23.58 - $34.59 Hourly (Classified Salary Level 12)
Salary/Compensation Statement:
  • Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $49,054 - 71,938.
  • New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this classification with the same or greater number of years' relevant experience and education.
  • Lane's robust Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, basic term life insurance, long term disability, vacation leave, personal time and paid sick leave.
  • Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions regarding your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or to the US Department of Education.
Grant Statement:
Continuation of position is contingent upon grant-funding.
Working Schedule:

Required QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (human development, child and family studies, social work, early intervention/early childhood special education, education).
OR
  • A Step 10 on the Oregon Registry with coursework in age three to five development, or an ability to obtain within 1 year.
Required Experience:
  • One (1) year of direct service in the field of Childhood Care and Education.
  • One (1) year of experience in supporting adult professional development.
Licensure or Certification Requirements
  • Current Driver's License Required.

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education
Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Intervention or related field.
Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of community child care programs, subsidies, community resources, and state regulations on child care.
  • Direct service to children and families
  • Coaching early learning professionals
  • Experience training adults.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish capabilities are preferred. To qualify as bilingual, staff must possess demonstrated abilities to speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish and English and pass a bilingual test. Bilingual staff may receive a pay differential based on program language needs.

Position Purpose:
The Inclusive Partner Specialist provides technical assistance through consultation to early learning educators and programs. This position coordinates, implements, and evaluates the Inclusive Partners Program (IP) throughout Lane County. This position conducts coaching and technical assistance with early learning programs to support quality, inclusive care and environments. Activities will include consulting with families and providers as well as providing professional development opportunities for early learning professionals.
Essential Functions:
Project Coordination:
  • Coordinates with state Inclusive Partners staff and CCR&R team to coordinate and implement inclusive practices throughout the region
  • Coordinates and delivers training, consultation, and technical assistance to early learning educators to support quality inclusive child care
  • Independently develops and conducts child care provider trainings based on the Oregon Registry's Core Knowledge categories
  • Manages and reports project data
  • Conducts community presentations when assigned by Program Coordinator
Direct Services:
  • Coordinates childcare provider trainings based on common needs of multiple programs
  • Provides distance (e-mail, phone, etc.) individual support including: material review and feedback, connection to resources, on-going guidance and check-in with child care providers
  • Provides on-site coaching visits to programs needing intensive support through observation and feedback
  • Facilitates Community of Practice sessions to support inclusive practices
  • Supports providers in their environmental and individual inclusive accommodation strategies.
  • Completes environmental and individual observations/assessment tools as deemed appropriate
Additional Duties
  • Maintains open, respectful and positive communication with all staff, parents, community partners, and volunteers
  • Collaborates positively with CCR&R team members to assure high quality services
  • Completes required documentation to meet CCR&R/IP/DELC deadlines
  • Assists with data collection
  • Responds to referrals from and collaborates with community partners, licensing, and CCR&R staff to engage and support early learning programs
  • Understands key competencies, best practice standards, and early learning program components (e.g. curriculum, assessment, family engagement, NAEYC standards and competencies)
  • Participates in professional learning opportunities required by the Early Learning Division including but not limited to Communities of Practice, certifications, and job-related training
  • Maintains documentation to meet program and state requirements
  • Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervision Statement:
Reports to and works under the general supervision of a department chair or other supervisor. Assignments are received in the form of basic guidelines with the employee expected to work independently towards the attainment of program goals and objectives. Work is reviewed by the supervisor through verbal updates and periodic conferences for progress towards program goals.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of theories and practices of Early Childhood Education, Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education, Human Services, and/or Human Development.
  • Ability to facilitate the implementation of teaching practice and program improvement goals.
  • Experience in design and delivery of training to adult learners virtually and/or in-person.
  • Provide support to employees working to meet accreditation standards through evaluation and assessment of student/children outcomes.
