Landaff School is looking for a preschool teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.Qualifications:•Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.•State certification or licensure as a preschool teacher (required in some jurisdictions).•Previous experience working with young children in a formal educational setting.•Strong knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.•Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.Reports to:Head TeacherOverview: As a preschool teacher, you'll be responsible for nurturing and educating young children in a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment. Your primary goal is to facilitate their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through engaging activities and structured learning experiences.Responsibilities:1.Curriculum Development:•Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with educational objectives and developmental milestones.•Foster a love for learning through creative and interactive teaching methods, including storytelling, games, arts and crafts, and sensory experiences.2.Classroom Management:•Maintain a well-organized and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.•Establish and enforce rules and routines to promote positive behavior and social skills development.•Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring all children receive equal attention and support.3.Individualized Instruction:•Recognize and accommodate the unique learning styles, interests, and abilities of each child in the classroom.•Provide one-on-one support and guidance as needed, including assistance with academic tasks and emotional regulation.4.Assessment and Progress Monitoring:•Conduct ongoing assessments to track children's progress and identify areas for improvement.•Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's development, achievements, and any concerns that may arise.5.Collaboration and Communication:•Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and staff members to plan and coordinate curriculum, activities, and events.•Maintain open and transparent communication with parents, encouraging their involvement in their child's education and development.6.Health and Safety:•Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.•Administer first aid and respond appropriately to emergencies or incidents that may occur during school hours.Evaluation:The Preschool teacher’s ability and effectiveness in carrying out the Performance Responsibilities will be evaluated annually by the Head Teacher. Terms Of Employment:Contracted for each school year.
