- Must be currently licensed in the State of Texas, and have a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
- Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Performs health duties within the scope of RN practice/protocol as prescribed by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Provide intermediate level professional public health nursing services including assessment, prioritization, treatment, counseling and education to patients.
- Interact with patients, general public, and medical workers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Maintains confidentiality of client information as outlined in HIPAA guidelines.
- Practice all OSHA safety standards including disposal of biohazard waste.
- Issues and educates patients on various medications and importance of adherence to medications.
- Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
- Document problems and report critical issues as they occur to supervisor or physician/provider.
