JOB
Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the backup, support, and maintenance of the county’s physical and virtual server environments. This position performs daily system monitoring, verifies the integrity and availability of all server hardware and resources, reviews system and application logs, and verifies completion of all scheduled jobs.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Administrating Microsoft systems, including local AD, Azure, PowerShell, SharePoint, OneNote, & O365. Assist in designing and deploying new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems. Perform patch management tasks, including maintaining current knowledge of available patches and ensuring patches are pre-tested and installed correctly. Enforces quality of service guidelines for dealing with end users, completing services, and overall user satisfaction. Assists service desk staff in providing first-line support when workloads are high or other experience is required; acts as an escalation point where complex or controversial support requests are received. Develops and continually updates training material for new and existing IT staff to transfer knowledge of County hardware infrastructure and software applications. Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced. Remains on-call during off-peak hours to respond to support service issues. Models the high level of customer service expected of all associates, including responding to voice mails and emails within organizationally defined timeframes, completing projects as committed, responding to others’ feedback appropriately, and making optimal use of organizationally limited resources by aiding other functional teams when appropriate. ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs related duties as required. Requires travel between buildings; may require evenings or weekends. Must be available for on-call.
