JOB
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, position works at the public service desk assisting users with basic Library functions;
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists customers by issuing library cards, checking materials in & out, placing holds, & locating materials using an automated library system.Assists patrons on-site or by telephone with basic informational & directional requests.Assists customers in the use of library catalogs, computers, copiers, printers, & other equipment throughout the library.Handles fines, fees, & payments.Interprets & communicates general library policies & procedures to patrons.Operates equipment such as telephones, computers, copiers, faxes, etc. Searches for needed materials & shelves accurately according to prescribed location.Performs opening & closing procedures.Performs other associated duties as required or assigned.
