POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Employment ServicesCoordinator’s primary duty is to manage and oversee all aspects of program participants/trainees’ services under the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) contracts. The ES Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, development, planning, admissions, evaluations, and assessments which promote a vocational and employment-oriented philosophy for individuals with challenged lives seeking services through Lanakila Pacific (LP). This includes developing and implementing program standards, collaborating with other LP Programs and Services, ensuring contract compliance, and performing operations necessary to support the program. Empowering individuals towards reaching their career goals is a key role of this position. The ES Coordinator supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization, upholds, and enforces the guidelines and policies of the organization and demonstrates Lanakila Pacific’s values of teamwork, excellence, achievement, and motivation in all personal interactions and exemplifies Lanakila’s STAR service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Specific Duties:
- Overseesdaily operations and activities of the DVR services; coordinate with team members and client’s circle of support to address client’s goals and determine priorities.
- Provides coaching and leadership to ES job coaches to ensure that organization and program objectives are met.
- Develops, coordinates, oversees,and maintainsprogram curriculum and activities ensuring contract compliance.
- Provides oversight, support and coaching to LPstaff in matters of program curriculum and instruction, accountability, participant progress, participant behavior management, participant, and program concerns; promote and model continuous learning and professional development on topics that relate to adults with disabilities.
- Supports participants in various training programs through job coaching as needed; develop behavioral plans and participate in resolving workplace behavioral issues with participants, vocational counselors, and department managers.
- Oversees the admission process into the LP DVR program which includescommunication with referral sources; coordination of internal and external services; and leading and conducting or assisting with intake meetings.
- Maintains continuous communication, coordination, and support between program staff, clients to include all reporting requirements, presentations, referral communications and documentation, admission orientations, client intake/transition/exit, program event or alterations, and all other questions or concerns.
- Provides ongoing support to participants and their employers including the identification of problem areas and provide recommendations.
- Participates in resolving workplace behavioral issues with participants and their circle of support including but not limited to vocational counselors, family, and workplace supervisor.
- Performs assessments and evaluations necessary for the written development of Individualized Service Plans for Employment and establish measurable outcomes based on the clients’ personal goals and readiness for professional development prior to placement and transition services.
- Performs all contract reporting requirements to include trainee time studies, if appropriate.
- Explores the need for assistive technology/devices; collaborate with participant, team members and circle of support to facilitate acquisition and proper implementation and use of devises.
- Continuously works to uphold ethical standards, program policies and procedures and best practice treatment standards.
- Ensures all documents related to billing are received prior to the start of services.Completes and submits monthly billing by designated due date.
- Advocates on behalf of the participants for their safety and health and other support services with state agencies, Hawaii Disability Rights Center, and Independent Living organizations to ensure continuity of support beyond LP’s services.
- Performsjob coaching duties as needed.
- Conducts employment classes in a variety of formats when needed

- Serves as a role model for the staff, participants, and volunteers and as a member of the leadership team works to create a healthful and respectful environment.
- Ensures all safety procedures and practices are followed and enforced, and that safeguards and proper safety gear, such as gloves, are used when appropriate.
- Demonstrates the ability to work with confidential information and comply with established policies, procedures, and practices.
- Demonstrates a willingness to gain and possess thorough knowledge of Lanakila Pacific’s programs and seeks ongoing educational opportunities related to the position.
- Performs other reasonably related business duties as assigned, including but not limited to program promotion, representing the organization at events, and participating in fundraising activities.
- Completes training as mandated by organizational policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or human services from an accredited college or university. OR Bachelor’s degree in another field from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible work experience teaching individuals with disabilities
- Experience: Two years of progressively responsible paid work experience teaching individuals with disabilities.
- Clearance/Certification: Must maintain the following clearance/certifications in accordance with the Department of Human Services Standards: 1) Annual TB clearance, 2) CPR/First Aid certifications, 3) APS/CAN Central Registry Check, 4) criminal history checkand pre-employment drug and alcohol testing,5) Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract with access to an insured vehicle, 6) Fieldprint Fingerprinting and 7) List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE)

- Experience: Supervisory or management, person centered planning approach, vocational assessments and tools, behavior and job coaching and management.

Monday through Friday; indoors, office setting, occasionally outdoors; may travel to see employees, other program sites, meeting sites, etc., as required; may be required to work outside of normal business hours.
