Lampert MD Plastic Surgery is Hiring an Insurance/Patient Coordinator Near Miami, FL

Lampert MD Plastic Surgery is now looking to hire Insurance/Patient Coordinator. This position is Full-Time. Plastic surgery experience is a plus! Pay is commensurate with experience. Bonus structure planned.

Job Description:

Main job responsibilities would consist of:

  • Verify patient insurance, billing insurance for doctor and facility, generate insurance claims, getting insurance authorization, appealing claims and following up on appeals
  • Communicating with insurance companies, acquiring letters of agreement and single case agreements, negotiating contracts and insurance payments for facility, doctors, surgical assistants, nurse practitioner
  • Analyze insurance plan and patient deductibles. Weigh and present the potential insurance payment versus self pay options for team, staff and patients.
  • Analyze and present the potential benefit of involving insurance with "combination" cosmetic and reconstructive surgery cases
  • Lead team when communicating with patients regarding insurance, deductibles, patient responsibility, and other insurance matters
  • Able to follow and stays on top of current ICD-10, CPT coding and modifiers
  • Aid in monthly staff meetings and educate team on insurance related issues.
  • Makes follow-up calls to Workers Compensation, Private Insurance and Contract Lien Carriers on all claims that are overdue.
  • Review accounts receivable reports regularly for any problematic accounts, trends and ensures timely follow up
  • Review claims issues, makes corrections as needed, and rebill
  • Sends appeal letters to Insurance Carriers that send an incomplete payment
  • Accurate and timely filing follow up of resolution for all accounts receivable
  • Assist in the processing of insurance claims including working denials from insurance companies

The ideal candidate has impeccable integrity, is a team player, has good communications skills, has a warm personality, is compassionate about patient care, is proactive, and has experience with customer service in a medical setting. Plastic Surgery Experience and Bilingual Speaker is a Big Bonus!

Salary: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
