Lamoreaux Associates is Hiring a CAD Designer Near Cedar, UT

Lamoreaux Associates (LA) is a leading consulting engineering firm with offices in Cedar City, Utah; San Jose (Silicon Valley), California; and Seattle, Washington. We provide multidisciplinary planning, design, construction management, and testing services primarily for the mass transit industry (www.laeng.com), but also for buildings/facilities/architectural projects, highways, airports, ports, energy, and mining (www.lmcivil.com). We are seeking a full-time Architect Intern/CAD Designer to work from our Cedar City Office.
Requirements:
  • Two years of design and drafting experience for architectural and/or engineering projects.
  • Autocad experience, including experience developing and following CAD standards, building and using block libraries, and automation of design processes.
  • Autodesk Civil 3D experience.
  • Architectural building/facility design experience.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Architecture degree a plus.
  • Architecture design studio experience a plus.
  • Revit and BIM experience a plus.
  • Civil/site plan experience a plus.
  • GIS and drone/mapping-point cloud experience a plus.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop project drawings and update/revise drawings for projects in market sectors that may include land development, buildings/facilities/architectural projects, transit, rail, highways, airports, energy, and mining. Disciplines may include architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, technology and civil.
  • Develops project designs which may include:
    • Commercial, industrial and residential buildings and land development
    • Control & automation systems, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), security systems, fiber optic outside/inside plant, wireless/DAS, audio announcement & visual display systems, telephone systems
    • Computer systems/networks, data centers, control centers
  • Learn new tools and software as required to complete designs.
  • Use Autodesk AEC Collection software, Autocad, ArcGIS, QGIS, Civil 3D, Revit, SketchUp, Navisworks, Chief Architect and other software to develop designs.
  • Work as part of a design team, as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Conduct site investigations to determine existing conditions for projects, including use of aerial drones/Lidar, GIS survey tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
