Components of this position include staff collaboration, knowledge of program rules, ability to research issues, ability to interpret rules and guidelines into program processes, and detailed audit skills. Will perform technical work to include data collection, surveys, tabulation, tracking, analysis, and interpretation of results. Research assigned projects/programs and design the best quality improvement tools for assigned areas. This position will be responsible for the safety program by serving as the Chair of the Safety Committee along with other duties as assigned. Position requires effective time management, attention to detail, the ability to write clear and concise reports, the ability to structure, organize, and present information effectively, both orally and in writing, and skill in identifying problems, evaluating alternatives, and negotiating and implementing solutions to organizational and service delivery issues, proficient skill in the use of data and word processing equipment and software, ability to maintain a positive working relationship with all programs. Some statewide travel is required, occasionally overnight, and the use of a personal vehicle for agency business will be required. The Quality Management Specialist will work under the general supervision of the QM Manager with a moderate degree of latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Education, Training & Experience:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of two years of experience working in a related field. Additional work related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Must have a current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record and insurability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a human services field, knowledge of state, and federal laws, agency regulations, policies, rules, and requirements applicable to program, knowledge of laws and rules applicable to confidentiality and the management of protected health information, skilled in advanced business and technical writing, data analysis, reporting, and interpretation of complex data sets related to performance. Prefer knowledge of HHSC Texas Resilience & Recovery, knowledge of Cerner and CARE computer systems. Bilingual skills, a plus.
Salary: $22.22-$28.01 (Depending on Qualifications)
