Position Summary
Summary:
Implements/maintains sourcing and contract management strategies for purchasing supplies and equipment for assigned departments and satellite locations. Manages the catalog items, pricing, contract repository, project/work requests, and the contract life cycle. Creates and analyzes financial models using Excel or similar tools. Works under the direction of the Purchasing Manager for quality assurance, prioritization, and process. Proactively communicates and collaborates while moving projects through the defined contracting process according to LRH policies and processes, while leveraging our standard contracting templates. Serves as a resource to all clinical team members to provide requested data to identify savings opportunities and cost associated with supply decision making.

  • Standard Work: Purchasing Contracts Analyst
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of key business metrics, performance against contract targets and indicates how contract spend affects supply chain initiatives. Assess and evaluates complex financial data via use of computer analysis. Comfortable exporting data to excel, performing data manipulations and summarizing conclusions for presentation to both clinical and executive leaders.
  • Responsible for identification, reporting, analysis and resolution of data necessary to support Value Analysis teams, hospital staff, and physicians to ensure that product selections are based on standardized data that will benefit LRH as a whole. Conduct meetings in conjunction with the Manager regarding expiring contracts, contract compliance and contract price discrepancies.
  • Prepares spreadsheets producing concise data for uploading contract pricing accurately into Lawson/Infor system in accordance with LRH policy and procedures. Maintains database records in a concise, methodical manner according to Supply Chain policies to ensure item information flows properly through the purchase order, inventory, receipt and invoicing functions.
  • Reviews GPO contracts ensuring the appropriate qualifying tiers are activated based on prepared financial analysis and spend analytics. Conducts routine analytics required to demonstrate the value of local and GPO contracts used to drive contract penetration and savings.
  • Manages a contract portfolio based on category, facility or other and ensures that portfolio contracts are current and producing value for the organization. Manages and reports on future contract expirations. Monitors and completes vendor contract extensions or renewals, as appropriate.
  • Establishes and maintains complex Supplier relationships by serving as a single point of contact for contractual matters in order to provide contract resolution. Drafts, evaluates, and negotiates contractual and pricing agreements with Suppliers directly for review by Supply Chain Management.
  • Manages record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation as needed for audit purposes and record retention policy.
  • Responsible for addition of new items added to Lawson/Infor Supply Chain database and implementing the item conversion process for Value Analysis approved products. Supports efforts to maintain accurate item master database by verifying manufacture and packaging information.
  • Monitors invoice pricing discrepancies and resolves contract pricing issues in a timely and efficient manner. Reviews and evaluates price change notifications to ensure pricing accuracy. Effectively communicates contract invoice discrepancies to Distributor, Vendor or affected parties.
  • Bench marks proposed item prices to national databases. Develops and generates reports, charts, power points, and presentations as requested to support initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience

Education equivalent experience:
Essential:
  • Finance, Business, Technology or related field. Educational requirements may be substituted with documented experience in contracting and financial analysis.Education Preferred: Business or related field
Other information:
Experience Essential:
  • Candidate will have demonstrated capable performance in a contract analyst role for a period of 2-3 years or will have equivalent financial analyst experience.
Experience Preferred:
  • Three (3) years of progressive growth in healthcare supply chain analytics, contract administration, procurement or other industry supply chain management /contracting.
  • Experience in medical products or supply chain management processes; Working knowledge of healthcare supply chain, POs, financial and non-financial healthcare measures
Certifications Preferred:
  • CMRP
