The Accounting Assistant is responsible for data entry, clerical support duties, and assisting the Accounting Director in the day-to-day coordination and operation of the department. 

 Essential Job Duties: 

1. Compiles and inputs data into the computer for Independent Living billing.

2. Reviews accounts payable/accounts receivable documents for accuracy.

3. Inputs accounts payable into the computer and generates accounts payable checks

 Other Duties:

1. Runs necessary reports. Maintains backup and support documents. 

2. Maintains ledgers and storage binders in an orderly fashion. 

3. Maintains computer disks. 

4. Files paperwork. 

5. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. 

6. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School education with knowledge of accounting and office machines.

2. Data entry or personal computer experience necessary. 

3. Accounting experience helpful; will train. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Must be able to sit at a desk for up to six hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to access files and various documentation; must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently; may be exposed to a constant noise level due to the printers located in the office
