Lake Geneva Country Meats is Hiring an Office Associate Near Geneva, WI

This position is for a person who would like to work in an office environment helping customers enjoy locally processed animals. You will work with farmers and the customers who have purchased animals from them to send customers home with quality meats cut the way they want. To make this happen, you'll interact with our butcher team to ensure the customer's order is filled. Additionally, you'll work with our wild game customers during the appropriate season and assist with checking out our retail customers.

This position works a stable Tuesday - Saturday full-time schedule, with Saturdays work ending at 3 PM. 

We are looking for a positive, kind, hardworking person who values providing exceptional customer service and can keep track of details to get orders right for our customers. If this is you, we'd love to talk to you!

We combine a USDA-inspected sausage kitchen and custom processing facility with a gourmet retail store. Essential job functions

  • Take cutting instructions from custom processing & wild game customers.
  • Invoice and notify custom processing & wild game customers when their orders are complete.
  • Complete billing procedures to process payments for custom processing & wild game customers.
  • Waiting on retail customers as necessary.

Competencies

  • Ability to learn various cuts of meat and the options available to processing customers.
  • Ability to learn LGCM’s billing process.
  • A desire to provide pleasant and helpful customer service.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to pivot between different aspects of the position throughout the week.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software, efficient typing skills, and ability to master the use of POS software.

Work environment

This position works in both an office environment as well as our retail butcher shop. Time will be spent on our processing floor communicating with meat cutters.

Physical requirements

This position must be able to:

  • Fluently communicate verbally and in writing in the English language.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and while working on a computer.
  • Spend short amounts of time in freezers that are kept at 0ºF.

Education and experience

  • Previous experience in a meat or food-related field is preferred but not necessary.
  • Previous experience in an office-based setting work with billing software is preferred but not required.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred but not required.
