Date Available: ASAP Description: Little Scouts Preschool is looking for a Student Worker with previous experience working with children between the ages of 2-5. Student Workers are responsible for safely facilitating indoor and outdoor play-based activities while assisting a supervising teacher. Hours are 3:45/4:00-5:15 PM. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist Supervising teacher facilitate developmentally appropriate experiences for the pre-school camp based on the goals and philosophy of the school
Engage with children through play to broaden their learning experiences
Create and actively promote a comfortable and welcoming environment where parents, faculty, staff and visitors are treated with dignity and respect, in a friendly, personalized manner
Represent Little Scouts in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervising Teacher or Center Director
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to:
Work in the vicinity of children
Remain stationary
Frequently stand for long periods of time during the camp day
Frequently walk, sit, stoop, kneel or crouch
Ability to climb, push and pull
Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation (fire, evacuation, illness or injury)
Communicate across a variety of mediums
Transport items up to 50 lbs.
Ability to adapt to inside and outdoor environments.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must be flexible and enthusiastic
Friendly and warm, with nurturing characteristics preferred
Possess the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
