SummaryThe Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations related to care team responsibilities including the direct supervision of the Medical Assistants (MA) and Registered Nurses (RN). This position is a working RN role and will spend approximately 50% time performing administrative duties and 50% time providing direct client care. The Nurse Manager will work in a dyad with the Office Manager to ensure optimal client flow, improved client experience and standardization of operations in the health center to identified best practice standards.Scheduled Hours: 40 hours a week
  • Provides direct supervision of RNs and MAs, ensuring appropriate assessment, treatment, and documentation of client health and compliance with established regulations and standards.
  • Serves as key problem-solving resource for staff on client issues.
  • Receives, analyzes, and takes appropriate action on data that includes client outcomes, quality assurance results, budget/goal achievement, and performance/productivity (e.g., Uniform Data System (UDS)) measures, Tableau Reports, NextGen Reports, etc.), reviews and proposes improvement opportunities to the Practice Manager and Health Center Medical Director.
  • Ensures that the care teams are staffed appropriately and works with peers to find coverage.
  • Performs monthly documentation audits on five random client records/direct report to ensure documentation is completed per established protocol.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources/Recruitment Department on recruiting, selecting, orienting training, and evaluating new RN and MA staff.
  • Leads monthly one-on-one meetings with direct reports, care team meetings, communications, training, and annual performance evaluations.
  • Ensures licensure, annual competencies, trainings, and evaluations are completed for direct report staff.
  • Participates in continual accreditation/regulatory compliance and ensures direct reports are compliant with accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Ensures Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment Waiver compliance by direct reports.
  • Ensures productive, daily huddles are being performed by care teams.
  • Ensures that clinical supplies, including vaccines, are organized and up to date.
  • Participates in planning related to health center and emergency/disaster response system.
  • Provides direct client care.
  • Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to client privacy laws.
  • Demonstrates culturally competent healthcare delivery and fosters same among all staff.
  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum five years of professional nursing experience including two years’ clinical supervisory experience, preferably in a medical practice setting.
  • Current American Health Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification
  • For internal candidates – 5 years of nursing experience. Clinical supervisory experience requirements may be offset by performance, skills and leadership potential demonstrated during time as an employee.
