Lake County Schools is currently seeking to hire two Building Services Technicians. The south maintenance lot is located about 30 minutes from Orlando and serves several schools and departments. REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or GED
· Minimum of five (5) years experience in the associated trade disciplines
· Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
· Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License
JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential job functions include but are not limited to:
Performs scheduled, general corrective and/or predictive maintenance on facilities and equipment. Prepares and performs various special projects, as assigned. Plans, designs, and prepares paperwork for all facets of carpentry construction projects. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated. Installs, adjusts, repairs and replaces various doors, door closures, panic devices, locksets and hinges, and related hardware. Adjusts window treatments as required. Cleans gutters and downspouts. Inspects and tests various cables and wires, line voltage, fire alarm systems, emergency/exit lighting and photocells for damage. Cleans and performs scheduled maintenance on A/C units, including installing filters and replacing exhaust fans when necessary. Repairs various plumbing components. Accurately documents time and materials utilized to complete work orders. Assists other trade workers with special projects, as assigned. Provides 24-hour emergency support, as required.
