POSITION SUMMARY: The porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Porters wash dirty dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment, assist Chefs or Cooks with basic food preparation and ensure that kitchens are clean and orderly, picking up trash in the parking lot and around the property, keeping the dumpster area neat. This position is also responsible for but not limited to maintenance and detail cleaning of the restaurant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleaning and sanitizing all meal preparation areas as well as kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, and grills.
• Sweeping and mopping all kitchen areas during shifts and at the end of shifts.
• Washing dirty dishes, cutting boards, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Ensuring that food mixers, cookers, and other cooking equipment are in good working order.
• Emptying, re-lining, and washing garbage cans as required.
• Ensuring that refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas are clean and well-organized.
• Remove trash and garbage to dumpster
• Sweep/mop floors
• Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
• Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data
• Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic.
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
