Job Title: Library Technician
Location: Justice Management Division (JMD) Libraries, U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D.C.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Qualifications:
- An Associate degree in Library Science or related field; relevant certifications such as Library Technical Assistant (LTA) preferred.
- Previous experience working in a library setting, particularly in cataloging, circulation, or digitization.
Duties:
- Shelving and organizing library materials to maintain an orderly collection.
- Checking in and checking out materials at the circulation desk.
- Processing new materials including labeling, covering, and entering into the library system.
- Assisting patrons with locating materials and answering general inquiries.
- Supporting digitization projects and maintaining electronic files.
- Conducting minor repairs on books and other library materials.
- Performing routine maintenance of library equipment.
