Sanitation Technician - 2nd Shift

$23.25 per hour PLUS $1.50/per hour shift premium

Lactalis American Group is currently seeking candidates to join our Sanitation Team in Merrill, WI. This role works a 2nd shift schedule with varying start times between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. with no preset scheduled end time. Position averages 10 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, and an occasional Friday.

JOB Summary:

This position performs duties of high-quality cleaning and sanitizing of all production machines/equipment to ensure cheese products are not compromised or contaminated at any time during the production process. Must be able to multitask, be a self-starter, and take initiative. Must be able to work in a hot, humid environment with physical demands of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50lbs

JOB Responsibilities:

• Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of equipment to ensure a successful next day production run.
• Inspects equipment after cleaning and sanitizing to prevent bacteriological contamination of product.
• Conduct custodial and commercial cleaning duties to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
• Fabricate cleaning solutions and use appropriate cleaning equipment
• Cross training in other sanitation duties as required.
• Attention to detail is crucial and essential to the success of this position.
• Must have mechanical aptitude with ability to take apart and reassemble equipment, pumps, etc.
• Maintain open line of communication with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
• Perform sanitation duties as assigned by sanitation lead and/or supervisor.
• Duties performed must adhere to Safety/Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety practices

Education

· High School Diploma or completion of GED preferred but not required.

Experience

• Prior experience in general cleaning or chemical handling is preferred, but is not required.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
• Knowledge of sanitation practices in food production or processing environments
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
