Are you ready to dive into an exciting opportunity? We're seeking a skilled and passionate Aquatic Instructor to join our team! Utilize your aquatic expertise to champion health and wellness by delivering safe, enjoyable, and dynamic water exercise routines suitable for all abilities.

As a contract instructor, you will:

• Lead aquatic exercise classes as per the schedule.
• Develop and update routines regularly to incorporate the latest trends in health and wellness.
• Contribute ideas and suggestions for expanding our class offerings.
• Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants, fostering an environment of fun and well-being.
• Maintain open communication with the Living Well Director, providing updates on progress, challenges, and program enhancements.

 Qualifications:

• Experience teaching diverse aquatic exercise classes tailored to older adults and their varying abilities.
• Flexibility to work on different days and at various hours.

Preferable Qualifications:

• Valid certification from the Aquatic Exercise Association.
• Nationally recognized group fitness instructor certification, such as Aqua Zumba, water aerobics, deep-water aerobics, Backhab, or Ai Chi.
• Valid lifeguarding, shallow water lifeguarding, or basic water rescue certification.

Requirements:

• Ability to respond promptly, effectively, and calmly in emergency situations.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff, residents, and the La Posada community.
• Strong organizational and people skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including sitting, standing, and bending for extended periods.
• Stamina and physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.

Conditions of Employment:

 This is a contract position with hours varying based on La Posada’s aquatic schedule.
