La Porte Hospital is Hiring a Maintenance Engineer II - Full Time, La Porte Hospital Near LAPORTE, IN

The Technician II performs major repairs and maintenance of pumps, motors, fans, conveyor, and other major equipment. Responsibilities include a general working knowledge of all major systems, such as boiler, electrical, air handling, and temperature Control. Must have the ability to repair or replace pumps, motors, bearings, and components. Performs preventive maintenance of equipment, and maintains documentation and inventories. All work is to be performed according to departmental or manufacturer standards. Must maintain and use all appropriate safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, face shield, and coveralls.

Position Qualifications: 

Education:  Insert required education

  • High School Graduate or GED

Certifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in general maintenance related field or have taken shop classes in a technical field such as HVAC, welding or any trades credits preferred.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license

General Responsibilities: 

  1. Must have general working knowledge of equipment. (Air Handlers, Pumps, Boilers)
  2. Responsible for learning and the operation of the fire alarm system
  3. Must have general knowledge of electrical.
  4. Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  5. Must learn and use the electronic work order system.
  6. Must be organized and self-motivated.
  7. Must be able to document all work performed per the area of responsibility.
  8. Must learn and be able to use the Building Automation System.
  9. Uses knowledge on safety and proper use of equipment during daily tasks (ie.Ladders, Hand and Power tools, etc.)
  10. Troubleshooting and problem solving – The ability to understand a situation by breaking it apart into smaller pieces or tracing the implications on a step by step way.
  11. Uses knowledge of general construction to repair maintain and update the facility.
  12. Attitude - Provides highest quality service and meeting customers' needs with utmost kindness, care, compassion, courtesy, empathy, respect and friendliness. Always acknowledges and serves customers with a friendly, open smile and direct eye contact.

  21.
