Job Summary

This Geographic Information System (GIS) Services Specialist is responsible for maintaining LPEA’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including mapping software on end-user workstations, mobile GIS on field devices, and electrical engineering software models. This requires the ability to adapt to the changing technological environment within the industry.

Essential Functions

• Manage edits and updates to GIS software applications or modules
• Oversee GIS projects and manage requests from other departments
• Supervise and implement changes to the electrical diagrams and one-line drawings
• Administer land base and imagery information for support of GIS applications
• Maintain the engineering circuit model of the Cooperative’s electrical system
• Investigate and verify electrical facilities in the field to maintain the GIS model
• Perform quality control of information to maintain the accuracy of the GIS model
• Collaborate with Data Analysts to architect and implement GIS data integrations
• Manage customer requests for GIS data
• Train and support both internal and external personnel on GIS applications and equipment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with enterprise GIS solutions and databases is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members and employees of the organization.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be willing to travel, work overtime, on holidays, and weekends, and be on call in emergency situations as needed.

Compensation

Annual salary range- $75,395-$92,328
