Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. The Mental Health Technician will provide integral support in assisting clients with substance use disorders and mental health concerns, ensuring a safe and supportive environment while aiding in their treatment and recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Support: Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the guidance of mental health professionals, providing emotional support and guidance to clients.
• Observation and Reporting: Monitor and observe client behavior, documenting and reporting any significant changes or concerns to the treatment team.
• Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to provide immediate support and crisis intervention for clients in distress, following established protocols.
• Assistance with Activities: Aid in organizing and supervising therapeutic activities, group sessions, and recreational or educational programs for clients.
• Client Assistance: Help clients with daily activities, including meals, hygiene, and medication management in accordance with facility protocols.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe environment by following facility safety guidelines and maintaining awareness of and adherence to all relevant regulations and protocols.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including observation notes and activity logs, in compliance with facility policies.
• Collaboration: Work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team, including therapists, counselors, case managers, and medical professionals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a mental health or substance use treatment setting is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with composure and professionalism.
• Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Pay and Benefits:

• Pay range: $20-$26/hour
• Health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days
• Paid time off after one year
