Job Title: Lead Behavioral Health Technician

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. The Lead Behavioral Health Technician will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to clients, as well as assisting in overseeing and coordinating the activities of the behavioral health technician team within our inpatient treatment program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Client Care: Provide direct assistance and support to clients in accordance with their treatment plans and individual needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
  • Supervision and Training: Assist in the coordination of the behavioral health technician team.
  • Client Supervision: Monitor and supervise clients during daily activities, meals, therapeutic sessions, and recreational or leisure activities, ensuring adherence to program rules and safety protocols.
  • Crisis Management: Respond to crises and emergencies as needed, implementing appropriate interventions and following established protocols to ensure the safety and security of clients and staff.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client observations, interventions, and incidents, adhering to facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with members of the treatment team, including therapists, nurses, case managers, and other staff, to ensure coordinated and integrated care for clients.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for client care and program operations.

Qualifications:

  • **REQUIRED: Must be registered as RADT, SUDRC, RAC or further education from CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE.
  • **REQUIRED: At least one year previous experience as a behavioral health technician or similar role in a substance use or mental health treatment setting.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and motivate staff.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
