Description

A Sales Rep – On Premise for wine and spirits is very important and basic part of the overall sales process. The Sales Rep is expected to participate in all aspects of selling to maximize the market share. One of the main objectives is to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with each of his accounts, thus allowing him/her to deliver products to all his accounts in a timely manner. Employee must be a team player and share responsibilities with the team. Employee must communicate and work with other members of the team to ensure customer satisfaction and increase sales. Employees will cooperate with other employees, supervisors and management and perform other duties as requested by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications


  1. Qualifications:
    1. Must be licensed to operate a company vehicle if one is available.
    2. Must maintain insurability to operate a company vehicle
    3. Have basic computer skills, handheld computer knowledge and math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
    4. Must be able to use a computer and Microsoft word products.
    5. Must have good presentation and speaking skills.
    6. Have an T.A.B.C. wholesalers permit
  1. Service:
    1. Know the most current vintage while selling in product to accounts.
    2. Pay attention to your customer’s needs and suggestions based on their clients.
    3. Thank the customer.
    4. Know each customer by name.
    5. Balance time spent in each account against the potential of that account.
  1. Sales:
    1. Check in with wine Steward or Sommelier at each location
    2. Research wine and vineyards to explain history of the wine and vintage
    3. Be able to explain wine by descriptors (sweet, long taste, tannins)
    4. Request samples using the sample request form
    5. Pick up samples from the office for the accounts you will show product too.
    6. Set appointments for wine tasting at each account
    7. Ride with Wine reps from the vineyards and have appointments set up prior week.
    8. Have price sheet printed and ready for each account
    9. Learn the portfolio of wines.
    10. Introduce new wines to the accounts
    11. Set-up for wine dinners and events
    12. Build personal client relationship
    13. Follow-up with account after tastings for orders.
    14. One on one selling skills
    15. Up sell other brands that Favorite Brands carry (craft beer)
    16. Have sampling with customers to determine wine needs
    17. Solicit new business
    18. Visit a retail account on a weekly basis if assigned
    19. No pre-set schedule, schedule is based on business and client need
    20. Place orders using computer
    21. Deliver hotshots as needs
    22. Communicate with sales manager on out-of-stocks and any other issues that are important to the sales process.
    23. Build good relationship with customers to be the premier wine distributor at that location.
    24. Seek out new accounts
    25. Follow the company’s account receivable policy and aid in collection of payments.

    2. Keep your supervisor and management aware of all competitive activities.
    3. Keep good clean attitude towards working environment and customer satisfaction.
  1. Physical Demands:
  1. Frequent tasks (75%-100% of the day that could last from 6-10 hours depending on the number of cases sold and delivered for that day)
        • Move hot shots cases into accounts
        • Carry wine sampling bag
        • This consists of standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, lifting, twisting, stair climbing, reaching/overhead reaching, and shoulder flexion/rotation/abduction/extension.
        • Cases vary in weight from 10-46 lbs. Kegs vary in weight up to 80 pounds.
        • This consists of standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
  • Employees must perform pivoting on one foot (with and without product) and negotiate steps with functional balance in both static and dynamic tasks. We administer functionally directed balance tests such as the unipedal stance for 15 seconds as one aspect of appropriate balance.
  • Employees must maintain balance while moving product as fast as possible and while reaching as far as possible.
  1. Moderately frequent tasks (0 – 25% of the day that could last from 6-10 hours depending on the number of cases sold and delivered for that day.

        • This consists of walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching/overhead reaching

    1. At the discretion of management, the employee may be asked to undergo periodic safety training.
