Job Details
The role involves serving as a senior information technology analyst with responsibilities including the development, maintenance, and improvement of various automated data warehouse applications. This position will also coordinate team activities with other data warehouse teams on complex, multi-team projects. In addition, the data architect will work with other data warehouse developers to review the existing data warehouse policies and practices, modify them as needed, and/or propose new polices and practices.
Position requires strong knowledge of SQL, BI (Business Intelligence) tools, and experience with the relational database that aids in the development and maintenance of data warehouse ETL and queries.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent technical courses
- 6 years of experience in creating Data Warehouse BI applications including reporting, dashboards, ETL/data mart development and other information analysis and delivery system.
- Experience troubleshooting on all ETL processes and effectively resolve any issues.
Additional Skills:
- SQL Assistant/Teradata Studio Experience
- Experience with the PMM/SUITE/Agile methodology.
- Experience in Data Replication using tools like Oracle Golden Gate
- End user training experience.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with development team, business analysts, management, system users, and other stakeholders.
- User meetings conducted as necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan.
- Experience working with Data Modelers to adjust the logical design to create a physical design that suits to the reporting needs of the customer.
- Ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation, query/reporting performance, and analytical business value.
- With the Business Analyst, presents the information gathered to the Project Review Board and/or Project Sponsors during project review meetings, project workgroups and to the Technical Review Board providing clarification and answers to questions.
- Must be able to work independently with less supervision/direction.
- Assist other Architects or DBA to draft technical database model that:
- Captures requirements of data elements
- Reviews and approves updates to systems documentation.
- Designs data elements to best meet application needs
- Complies with audit separation of duty requirement.
