BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION Manage Regional Service Department activities and staff to provide excellent service support and training to Kubota dealers and customers. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines: Provide division service representatives with technical expertise and guidance.Create, implement, and execute technical training programs, seminars and schools for Kubota dealers in assigned division. Manage related budget.Review, resolve, and document customer dissatisfaction issues, in partnership with dealer network and KTC service field staff. Update and manage Customer Contact database.Administer, promote, and manage Technical Service Certification Program for division dealers. Set annual goals for field staff to continuously improve quality of KTC customer service support.Responsible for the administration of the annual business plan and budget of assigned department.Complete and submit various Service Department reports such as technical service reports, travel/call records, monthly department activity reports and other reports as required. SPECIAL PROJECTS Special projects may include serving as the designated chairman of the Division Safety Committee to maintain a safe working environment and conform to County, State, and Federal regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Mechanics, Engineering or related field and 5 to 7 years related experience. SKILLS AND BACKGROUND: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Effective leadership skills, including the ability to motivate staff.Mechanical knowledge of agricultural, turf, and construction equipment.Ability to professionally handle confrontational issues.Proficient using a computer, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Effective teaching/training skills.LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service): Description: Service Nature of Service All Products that KTC markets and distributes in the USA.YesOccasional repair.Also, office equipment including computer, copier, fax, phone, printerNo PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit, stand, drive and sit at a computer. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS: Managers General Summary This person performing this job is responsible to ensure that employees have been trained properly and re-trained as necessary; provides clear direction and instruction; and listens to obtain clarification of the work situation. This individual takes responsibility for reviewing the work in the Department and provides follow-up assignments as necessary to complete tasks. This individual works well under pressure and makes timely decisions. This job requires daily interaction with employees within the department by walking around the work area, ensuring that employees are on time and that schedules are met. Incumbent is required to attend meetings or specialized training, including off-site training, as necessary. This position develops and recommends cost-saving measures for the Department. Neither this summary nor the duties and responsibilities are intended to be all-inclusive, recognizing that additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as the job evolves. Duties and Responsibilities Conserves Department/Division and Company resources.Dependable and punctual with regular and consistent attendance.Orients and mentors new staff, provides ongoing training of staff and schedules regular meetings to ensure good communication is maintained in the work group.Motivates subordinates using positive coaching and counseling.Manages stressful situations in the workplace with tact and diplomacy and exhibits patience and tact in dealing with complaints and requests for information from employees.Monitors individual performance and prepares annual performance reviews and conducts disciplinary counseling as required while seeking guidance from the Director and Division Administration Manager/HR as necessary.Balances the individual duties and responsibilities with the goals of the Department/Division/Company.Applies Department/Division/Company processes and procedures and ensures that unauthorized deviations are corrected immediately.Has a good knowledge of Company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook) and applies them fairly and equitably.Adapts quickly to changes within the Department/Division/Company.Develops cross-training for jobs within the Department to ensure smooth transition when another employee is on ETO or out of the office for other reasons.Encourages subordinates to share ideas and concerns and responds quickly and positively to their questions and concerns.Sets a good, positive example to subordinates in the workplace by being tactful and treating others with respect.Exercises discretion and good judgment to matters affecting the Department/Division/Company.Additions and changes in duties and responsibilities may be necessary from time to time for the benefit of the Department/Division/Company. DISCLAIMER:The information provided in the description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by incumbents within the classification.
