Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 Salary/year

Description

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Logistics Manager plans, directs, and maintains economical and efficient transportation services of motorcycles, bicycles, and parts/accessories throughout North America, and as needed internationally. This position manages and ensures the accuracy of product storage warehouse inventories, while facilitating the establishment of commercial connections of customers and suppliers. The Logistics Manger is responsible for developing procedures and systems that satisfy scheduling and tracking procurement, and distribution operations. In addition, this position acts as a liaison with customers, suppliers, and employees to ensure inventory is properly documented and ordered, as well as guaranteed delivery schedules are adhered to for business expectation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Jointly manages international and domestic logistics processes in the shipment of motorcycles, bicycles, parts, and accessories. Additionally, supports strategic initiatives, monthly finance reviews, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as drive process improvements.

International

  • Schedules and creates documents for international land, sea, and air shipments in and out of the United States of America and Canada.
  • Works with customs on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Conducts activities related to customer clearance and delivery.
  • Maintains harmonized tariff codes and duty management.
  • Supports international import/export process.
  • Audits entry documentation and performs filing and the maintenance of in-house US customs records keeping and assists with Other Government Agencies (OGA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) documents.
  • Prepares shipping documents along with customs related documentation.
  • Investigates and resolves shipping issues.
  • Audits import/export freight bills.

Domestic

  • Schedules and creates documents for domestic shipments.
  • Coordinates warehousing and transportation with 3rd party logistics partners
  • Improves material flow by coordinating activities between HQ, outside agencies, vendors, partners, and suppliers.
  • Investigates and resolves shipping issues.
  • Audits freight bills.
  • Collaborates with import/export related vendors.
  • Interfaces with customers, brokers, international offices, carriers, etc.
  • Contacts trucking companies to secure space and containers.
  • Communicates with vendors to enable efficient and cost-effective exportation of product.
  • Works with 3PL to manage incoming and outgoing shipments along with any special projects.
  • Approves and processes freight claims.
  • Conducts logistics reporting and analysis, compiles findings, and makes recommendations to management and other parties as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Requires a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in a logistics related role; experience with both domestic and international logistics strongly preferred. Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. SAP experience a plus.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field required.

  • Strong experience in Microsoft products – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong math & statistical analysis skills.
  • Data visualization and presentation skills (charts, graphs, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and apt for attention to detail.
  • Adhere to all Company policies/procedures, safety regulations, local/state/federal employment laws.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with colleagues from several different nationalities and native languages.

JUDGEMENT/REASONING ABILITY: Ability to recognize discrepancies and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise, and diplomacy. Requires ability to use judgment and reasoning skills and determine when issues need to be escalated.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise in the work environment is usually moderate. Other factors are:

  • Ability to travel if needed. Travel is moderate in this position; 20% expected travel.

  • Ability to work extended hours as required.
