KSA is Hiring a Talent Acquisition and Development Specialist Near Longview, TX

KSA is seeking a Talent Acquisition and Development Specialist to join their Human Resouces Team.

The Talent Acquisition portion of this job will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. The Talent Development portion of this job focuses primarily on the development phase of the employee lifecycle by implementing talent management strategies, managing training and development, creating and monitoring career paths, supporting performance management efforts and playing a key role in succession planning.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Screens applications and shortlists qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Lead KSA University efforts by coordinating with instructors to create high value content and clear association with course completion and career path advancement.
  • Develop and manage career paths, course content, technical and non-technical training.
  • Develop a peer review process for technical courses.
  • Implement processes that support the development of employee advancement, performance development, training programs and succession planning to promote a high-performance organization.
  • Ensure detailed tracking of documentation of training completions for all employees.
  • Leverage development tools such as 360 feedback surveys to support and enhance learning programs and employee engagement.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and suggest modifications to course content for each instructor as needed to ensure the effectiveness of the training.
  • Identify and provide solutions regarding training and development to ensure that employees are qualified and trained to perform their job.
  • Coordinates scheduling of training sessions, booking, and notifying participants and internal/external partners, attending/managing sessions as required.
  • Assists in the design and development of effective development / training curriculum leveraging existing and new delivery tools.
  • Take an active role in the employee performance review process by working with supervisors to suggest development activities based on employee’s career path and/or development needs.
  • Focus on innovative and creative content delivery.
  • Develop and catalog skills and abilities of subject matter experts.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor a successful formal mentoring program.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS Systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Training, Learning and Development, Education, Business or similar highly preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 1 – 4 years of experience developing career paths, course content and curriculum at a private sector company preferred.
  • Experience developing highly technical curriculum with assistance from subject matter experts such as engineers, architects, and other technical staff.
  • At least one year managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.
