We are currently seeking a Sales Manager, with a background in sanitary process systems, to lead our Sanitary Process Sales Team. This is an excellent position for an experience sales manager or for someone looking to advance their sales career. You will collaborate with management and your team to develop sales strategy and attainable goals. In addition, you will foster and grow relationships with current and future Krones Process Group Customers, and have individual sales goals to accomplish. This is a perfect opportunity for an individual with leadership experience and technical knowledge in sanitary process for the Beverage, Dairy, Brewing, & Pharmaceutical industry. This position requires up to 50% travel, and focuses on Medium to large process systems sales. Experience in sanitary process highly preferred; technical outside sales experience required.

Job Purpose or Summary:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the sales operations of the sales representatives. This position involves developing and executing sales strategies to achieve company sales goals, as well as identifying new business opportunities, network, and building strong relationships with new and existing customers. Understand and sell the products, services, and capabilities of the Krones Process Group North America. Confidently lead negotiations with buyers, directors, and managers of large corporations in a competitive situation. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for tracking sales performance and providing feedback and coaching the sales team to help them achieve their targets.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, and mentor a team of sales representatives in development of quarterly sales plans to enable achievement of their sales targets.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to the sales team to improve their performance.
  • Help with hiring, and training new employees in company procedures.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's customer base.
  • Track sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Audit work and customer service to ensure the company's high standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met.
  • Prospect new leads, opportunities, and accounts based on desired market and customer product trends.
  • Identify products and process technology trends within the industry to advise engineering departments in areas to invest for expansion of knowledge of modular solutions.
  • Stay on top of all new technology within the Krones PT organization, the industry, and customers market demands.
  • Prioritize/manage requests for quotes, work with team to develop technical detailed proposals and submit them in a timely accurate manner.
  • Follow up with all active opportunities and proposals until decisions are made, diagnose and report lost opportunities.
  • Mediate customer negotiations, translating technical solutions into simplified functional explanations increasing customer engagement and understanding of superior design offerings.
  • Facilitate resolution of customer issues, promote compromise while maintaining relationship.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Experience/Training: Proven experience as a sales manager, preferably in the industrial equipment industry.

Physical / Working Demands

  • The work environment is a professional office environment where a conservative business dress code is in effect. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position will require visits to active jobsites and installation shops as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to type, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Specific vision required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Equipment used includes a computer, calculator, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to understand both spoken and written directions and good vision required.
  • Personal protective equipment required includes protective-toed safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hard hat (when on an active jobsite).
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety and environmental policies/procedures. Each employee is to place environmental health and safety requirements as the priority in the performance of their work duties. Employees are responsible for notifying their immediate supervisor of a violation or deficiency in working conditions and recommending corrective measures, if possible. The employee's immediate supervisor must also be notified of every injury, or near miss.
