We are currently seeking a talented National Service Manager to develop and lead our Lifecycle Services Field Technicians. We are actively growing this unit of our business and require a forward thinking individual with excellent management and communication skills to lead this team. Experience in Sanitary Process highly preferred; experience leading field service technicians required.

Job Purpose or Summary:

The LCS National Service Manager Leads the Field Service and Repair teams. As the LCS National Service Manager you must have a strong knowledge of processing equipment, including how it is built, installed, and functions. You must be a strong leader, able to troubleshoot and provide guidance and support to the field service teams. This position requires organization, forward thinking, and the ability to respond quickly with issues arising. The LCS National Service Manager will work closely with sales and engineering and will be customer facing. Travel to sites may be necessary and required to meet customer needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of service technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Hire, and develop new employees in company processes and procedures.
  • Develop and manage service budgets, ensuring that expenses are kept within approved limits.
  • Delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing team members to ensure the team's objectives are met while ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company's adherence to these regulations, and remaining current on the industry's standards and new innovations, materials, tools, and processes.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with internal departments, customers, manufacturers, dealers, and sales representatives.
  • Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
  • Resolving Service problems and improving methods to increase the LCS Service department’s productivity and customer service. Monitoring department issues and client complaints to create methods to lessen recurring issues. Monitor service performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Auditing work and customer service to ensure the company's high standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met. Ensure that all service and installation work meet industry and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate records of service history, costs, and warranties.
  • Ensuring all individuals assigned to field services jobs have customers and the company required training. This included certifications and safety training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Higher education.

Experience/Training: Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing service teams, preferably in the food equipment or industrial machinery industry.

Professional Skills

  • Proficiency with PC and Windows Operating system, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Prior experience in scheduling & budgeting
  • Experience with P&ID and Layout drawings

Physical / Working Demands

  • Generally good working conditions in a manufacturing plant. Moderate physical effort including frequent standing/walking and occasional exposure to high noise levels is required. During the summer months, exposure to heat and humidity may occur. Lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects weighing 30-50 pounds (45%). Manual dexterity and typing are required (20%). Stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching are required (35%). Noise levels in work areas may fluctuate from 82 to 110 decibels.
  • Equipment used includes calculators, measuring devices, hand tools, and welders.
  • Ability to understand both spoken and written directions and good vision required.
  • Personal protective equipment required includes protective-toed safety shoes and safety glasses with side shields.
  • Appropriate OSHA safety training is required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety and environmental policies/procedures. Each employee is to place environmental health and safety requirements as the priority in the performance of their work duties. Employees are responsible for notifying their immediate supervisor of a violation or deficiency in working conditions and recommending corrective measures, if possible. The employee's immediate supervisor must also be notified of every injury, illness, or near miss.
