Position Summary:
Provide our customers and associates with exceptional customer service and with a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer’s return visit. Responsible for pricing, stocking, and rotating merchandise in the Grocery department and following established quality standards. Provide information on products to aid customers in purchasing wine and beer products. Embrace the Customer 1st Strategy by delivering and encouraging other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Achieves the targeted customer and associate experience through the Customer 1st Strategy and 4 Keys:
  • Commitment to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important and appreciated.
  • Responsible for conducting yourself in a professional manner, displaying a positive attitude, speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers.
  • Ensure all customer inquiries are resolved promptly and effectively in a positive and professional manner.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Maintain familiarity with foreign products names, pronunciation and meaning of applicable manner.
  • Understand product location to find merchandise for customers.
  • Assist with ensuring all department fixtures and equipment are properly utilized and maintained.
  • Maintain cleanliness of counter, cases and coolers.
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal laws and guidelines.
  • Make a conscious effort to prevent shrink and profit loss in the department.
  • Work in compliance with all safety guidelines. Correct or identify unsafe conditions.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies and equipment malfunctions to the department manager.
  • Prepare and submits seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Able to be flexible.
  • Desired Previous Job Experience
  • Second language
  • Knowledge of imported and domestic varieties, the flavor profiles and how they are made.
  • Knowledge of industry trends in specialty wines and beers as they relate to the consumer.
  • Experience working with wine and beer.
  • Retail experience.
