**Job Description**

**GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:**

Lead the Production and Inventory Control Organization ensuring; executable production plans are developed and implemented, optimized use of factory capacity, high inventory accuracy, timely receipt of material and on time shipment to customers.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**

* Manages manufacturing planning, material management, inventory control, shipping & receiving and support activities within various manufacturing and supply chain areas.

* Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

* Owns the enterprise system planning parameters along with peers at other sites. (Scheduling parameters defined within the MRP system).

* Oversees material planning, production scheduling, warehousing and shipping.

* Oversee production control activities, which ensure material flow through production in support of the production plans to satisfy business goals and customer demands within shop capacity.

* Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals (KPIs), objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

* Direct and oversee corrective and mitigation actions to continuously improve the effectiveness of the companys business management system.

* Works with the Quality Department to assure that all raw material and outside processes meet the appropriate Quality requirements.

* Oversee production systems integrity and drives inventory optimization to minimize cost.

* Ensures accurate and timely processing of customer requirements including maintaining customer specified service levels.

* Manages all material handling activities including inbound material receipts and storage, supply of material to production lines, and outbound shipment of finished goods needed for customer shipments including transportation management and freight cost targets.

* Drives continuous improvement through work processes

* Works with purchasing to ensure any stock outs are proactively addressed. Responsible for the development, tracking, and execution of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to include just in time (JIT) performance.

* Works with Industrial Engineering for overall plant production plan and execution strategies within factory capacity.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:**

Responsible for the supervision of exempt and non-exempt personnel.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**

* BS Degree in Operations, Management, Business or related field plus a minimum of 8 years (or equivalent years of experience).

* Manufacturing planning experience including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity

* Proficient in use of MRP systems

* May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).

**Preferred:**

* APICS certification a plus

**WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

* Office and/or manufacturing environment

* Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

* Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones), frequent use of arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, and manual dexterity for small part assembly

* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

**TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:**

Up to 5% - May travel to other KUAS locations
