Job Description:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst supports Finance and Program Management in coordinating and managing financial planning and control activities in accordance with contract requirements, including analysis of weekly and monthly actual costs incurred against budgeted, variance analysis, estimates to complete, preparation of Management Review Packages, and in some cases Earned Value Management (EVM).

Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The duties and responsibilities listed below apply to all levels of Financial Analyst.

Financial Analyst II

• Maintains, manages, and reconciles customer contracts for billings, revenue recognition, funding, and percentage complete.
• Supports the accounts receivable function to ensure timely collection of outstanding billings.
• Support internal, external and government audits, where required.
• Assists in the review and entry of monthly cost of sales.
• Assists Program Manager and Finance to support large contracts or ad hoc requests; may be required to manage and administer components business or internal projects
• Prepares Monthly program financial analysis reports which include: Program/project financial status; Performance to budget with variance analysis; estimate to complete; estimate at complete; and anticipated net operating incomes.
• May consult with Program and Accounting Managers to develop variance reports/correction actions.
• Maintains and ensures the accuracy of actual cost collected.
• Prepares and maintains all assigned month end, program related general ledger account reconciliations.
• Support earned value requirements on contracts, as required.
• Prepares ad hoc analysis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The education and experience listed below apply to and build upon all successive levels of Financial Analyst.

Financial Analyst II

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience with cost reporting and data analysis.
• Working knowledge and experience with all financial functions including Cost Reporting, Estimating, Cost Management, and Operating Plan/Forecast preparation. Training in and exposure to Earned Value Management (EVMS) may be required.
• Knowledge of all contract types: CPFF, CPA/IF, FFP, FPI, T&M & IDIQ.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Office and/or manufacturing environment
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
• May work extended hours or weekends, especially around Month End and Fiscal Year End closing cycle.
