Summary

The Cost Accountant role is part of the accounting function, reporting to the Controller/CFO of the Company. The Cost Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate product costing and inventory valuation for all manufacturing plants. They will work closely with the Accounting, Production and Sales Departments by performing month-end close activities, providing/assisting in operational reporting, compilation and analysis of product costs, development of new products/offerings, and margin analysis.

Core Responsibilities

· Monitor overhead and labor costs/standards

· Create/compile weekly and monthly operations finance reports

· Complete month-end close tasks ensuring strict adherence to deadlines

· Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations

· Ad-hoc and monthly journal entries specific to inventory and manufacturing functions

· Assist Controller with forecast and budget reports

· Assist/coordinate with inventory control and cycle counts

· Monitor/control accurate inventory valuations

· Monitor/maintain Fixed Asset Schedules for managerial and financial reporting

· Investigate processes, manufacturing and receiving variances, and resolve discrepancies

· Other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance and 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience; required

· Manufacturing experience, preferred

• ERP/Acumatica experience, preferred
• Excellent Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to complete projects timely and accurately
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
