SUMMARY

The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the sales representatives and the sales activities of Rand Whitney's products and solutions to companies. Provides strategic leadership in implementing his territories overall sales strategy, policies and procedures. Assist in the hiring and training and directs, motivates, evaluates and rewards his assigned sales team to meet their sales objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop & build sales territories within assigned areas.
  2. Ensures that sales personnel of representative are properly trained, and their skills are continually being advanced.
  3. Sells and assists Sales Representatives with making sales of Rand Whitney's product lines. Assists with closing sales as necessary. Travels with Sales Representatives to provide training and demonstrations.
  4. Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for support of company objectives.
  5. Maintains and expands customer base by counseling sales representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
  6. Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
  7. Attends sales meetings and trade shows and reads industry publications to gain knowledge of competitors' product strengths and weaknesses within assigned sales territory
  8. Participates in technical/professional organizations or networking groups, attends trade shows and/or conferences to obtain leads.
  9. Prepares sales presentations and available product to potential customers. Analyze bid requests and specifications for major contracts/projects.
  10. Manages all aspects of the assigned territory, e.g., developing Sales Representatives, increasing sales, developing and managing customer relationships.
  11. Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  12. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 2 to 4 Exempt Level Staff
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business
  • Relevant industry experience and in-depth knowledge of the market Customer focused attitude, a minimum of 5 years successful sales experience
  • Strong team player with the ability to work successfully in a matrix organization Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
  • Proven experience in a sales role
  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients in-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Has excellent computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems/programs Has strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
  • Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands
  • Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel
  • Must be able to drive and visit customer locations
  • The employee frequently is required to talk or hear
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
