Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their assigned tables or waiting areas
- Provide menus and inform guests about daily specials
- Answer phone calls and make reservations
- Manage the waitlist and notify guests when their table is ready
- Assist with seating arrangements to ensure efficient use of dining space
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow of service
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests with professionalism and courtesy
Skills:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality industry preferred
- Strong customer service and guest relations skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food service procedures and basic food safety guidelines
- Attention to detail and ability to handle difficult situations with calmness and professionalism
- Strong phone etiquette skills for taking reservations and handling guest inquiries
