Description

Responsible for successfully implementing the organizational and administrative operations of the Finance Department. Designs and implements systems to assure timely and accurate collection and reporting of revenues, expenses, and statistics, accounts payable and accounts receivable and that adequate internal controls exist. Responsible for the preparation of various financial related reports on a timely basis. Ensures accuracy of all financial and statistical information.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assure that financial and statistical information is reported accurately and consistently. 
  2. Establishes (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  3. Implements consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
  4. Develops and enforces internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  5. Oversees and supports accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
  6. Develops, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
  7. Achieves budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
  8. Maximizes payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
  9. Implements procurement process including requests for proposals for organization contracts.
  10. Develops monthly reports and financial states including but not limited to income statements, balance sheets, external reports, and other governmental reports. 
  11. Guides financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
  12. Assists in completion of external audit and development of cost report. 
  13. Assists Chief Executive Officer in completion of all monthly and quarterly financial reports for board of director purposes.
  14. Processes payroll and manages employee benefits. 
  15. Implements changes Finance Department policies and procedures as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.
  16. Oversees development of grant project implementation including purchasing and reporting.
  17. Assure General Ledger accounts are verified periodically for accuracy. 
  18. Prepare assigned reports (i.e. annual budget, interim cost report, UDS, etc.) in a timely manner based on appropriate guidelines and assumptions.
  19. Monitors the activities of assigned personnel including but not limited to accounts payable and accounts receivable Finance staff. 
  20. Assures the department is staffed with adequately trained employees. 
  21. Offer opportunities for staff development.
  22. Participates in cross-departmental activities and meetings as requested. 
  23. Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
  24. Any other duties/tasks as assigned. 

Requirements

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND CREDENTIALS

  1. Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience, required, in a healthcare setting, preferred.
  3. Three (3) years supervisory experience, required.
  4. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, required.
  5. Strong skills in written and communications skills, required. 
  6. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft products, including Excel, required.
  7. Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis, required.
  8. Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting, required. 
  9. Experience in management payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes, preferred. 
  10. Sage Intacct accounting software experience, preferred.
