Duration: Long Term Position
| Position Description | hybrid and it could be up to 1 day a week in the office but most likely twice a month. Under limited supervision performs complex tasks to support the division by performing data analysis, data mining, design, development, testing activities, and execution of Ad-hoc and Standard reports to achieve strategic objectives and goals following unit Standard of Work processes. Design Adhoc and Standard reports in Tableau, SSIS, or other technology solutions which may require writing SQL and "Run Book", Standard Requirement Document, ED700, etc. documentation to support design. Record work related activities in an operating system and/or place documents in the appropriate drive following system processes and procedures. Manage life-cycle development and deployment utilizing SSIS, SQL, Tableau, Visual Basic, MS Access, dimensional and relational database design, or other business intelligence software tools. Perform data analysis, data mining, design, development, and execution of Adhoc and Standards reports ensuring consistency and applicability to achieve established strategic objectives and goals following Standard of Work procedures and processes. Serves on projects and/or pilots (develop Workplan, monitor, schedule, etc.) to provide technical guidance working collaboratively with the Analyst on design to ensure integration between Business Intelligence and business requirements, ensure timely and successful completion. Write and/or provide input for requirements, framework, and mechanisms for data analytics working closely with Analyst and End User and make recommendations to support automation and maintenance ensuring successful integration between Business Intelligence environment and business requirements. Participate in planning, development, testing, and delivery of solutions, and data stewardship activities. Develop and/or review test plans, monitor testing (assist with testing), ensure results are adequately tested (integration testing of technical and functional requirements and regression testing to identify anomalies) and validated, and create system documentation. Develop, analyze, and evaluate business needs to improve workflow processes, troubleshoot Business Intelligence tool problems and tune for performance optimization and usability. Design and deliver end-user presentations, training, Desk-Aids, and/or associated materials to technical and non-technical audiences. Attend and participate in meetings. Other duties as assigned. |
| Skills Required | Plan, organize and prioritize business analysis project deliverables from inception to completion in collaboration with business stakeholders. Responsible for requirements gathering for business questions of staff and management and develop those technical needs into meaningful reports which enable data driven decision making and may result in participating in the establishment of guidelines and policies. |
| Skills Preferred | Interface with other team members to analyze and design methodologies for complex data extraction from a variety of data sources and assist other team members in cross-training, quality control and reporting methodologies. |
| Experience Required | Service Level Agreement (SLA); laws, rules, security policies, privacy, data confidentiality management. Engineering workflow, IT lifecycle and system design, performance tuning, and Business Intelligence tools and features. Statistical and business analysis and research and analysis methodologies. Multiple Business Intelligence software applications (SSIS, SQL, Tableau, Visual Basic, MS Access, and multidimensional and Relational database design.) Project management concepts, principles and practices. -Data Programming/Software skills (e.g., Tableau and SQL) -Intermediate/Advanced data manipulation from a SQL based database/warehouse/lake -Dashboard/Report Development with Data Visualization tools -Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with internal stakeholders -Providing formal and informal instruction and technical support to end users -Working on moderately to highly complex BI/data analytic solutions -Oral and written communication |
| Experience Preferred | Dimensional and Relational database design. Analysis, design review, trouble-shooting, implementation and integration for applications. Problem and negotiation skills to resolve issues. Good time management and organizational skills with attention to detail. | Education Required | Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Admin, Statistics, Math, Economics or a related field and 1 years' experience performing data analysis, business intelligence or software development including Tableau or similar tools, and SQL; OR completion of Industry Accepted Certificate program with 1 years' experience performing data analysis, and a strong portfolio. |
