Sr. National Account Manager, Kohler Energy

Work Mode: Hybrid

Sr National Account Manager Kohler Energy

Location: Hybrid-3 days a week at 200 Twin Oaks Road, Kohler, Wisconsin with 30-50% travel required.

BASIC FUNCTION

The Sr National Account Manager is responsible for growth of OEM sales through factory direct customers. This role will demonstrate success with Kohler’s largest and most complex customers.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Tenaciously seeks opportunities to grow Kohler Engine business. Strategically selects how to achieve growth in all Kohler Engine segments.
  • Develop, communicates, and executes assigned specific sales strategies and plans to maximize sales volume and profitability in accordance with financial plan and Kohler brand strategies.Develops and executes multi-faceted customer relationship strategy.
  • Is a trusted resource with customer sourcing team, engineering team, marketing team, sales team, service team, and customer executive management.Leverages trust to learn of customer NPD programs and win new Kohler engine placements.
  • Has solid understanding of Kohler product lines and can articulate why a customer should buy Kohler Engines.Effectively communicates that message to customers.
  • Effectively uses needs based selling process to drive growth.
  • Through needs based selling process, can acquire an understanding of customer needs and buying motives and connect Kohler products to those needs.Develops solid customer engagements and plans to win through the needs based selling process.
  • Based on customers identified needs, effectively align our products and services to negotiate the best agreement.
  • Uses technical acumen to discuss application of Kohler Engines into equipment properly.
  • Presents information about our product and services to the customer to capture the customer’s thoughts and ideas for further discussion.
  • Has a solid understanding of the customer’s organization, market place, distribution, product line, and volumes.Has or can quickly get enough depth of knowledge and relationships at customer to work past a gatekeeper.
  • Proactively follow up and follow through with customers requests and be responsive to customers needs.
  • Effective at collecting and organizing the information on customer trends and decision criteria to assist sales leadership in achieving objectives for strategic planning and decision making.
  • Seeks opportunities to build positive relationships with customers seeking more information and sharing own ideas to support customer’s needs.
  • Effective at communicating clearly, concisely and interpret non-verbal cues and demonstrates ability to check for understanding.Able to manage through emotionally and politically charged customer interactions to achieve the desired result.
  • Consistently pursues goals and attempts to overcome barriers of changing circumstances and customer needs.
  • Partners with customer to facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace; supports others to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities.
  • Can effectively corral a Kohler team to execute what the customer needs to apply Kohler Engines into their application.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and true leadership within Kohler to achieve desired result.

Skills/Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering, sales or marketing, HR, or finance with a company that manufactures products.
  • Must be aggressive, analytical, and results oriented.
  • Must have excellent communication skills for internal and external clients.
  • Must be self-aware and able to read nonverbal cues and how they impact others.

PREFERRENCES

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a background in related engine industry or distribution preferred.
  • Experience in B2B sales preferred.
  • Technical competency preferred.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $107,650 - $137,150. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
