Job Description:
Meat Cutters are responsible for preparing, cutting, wrapping, and packing meat for sale to customers.
Essential Functions:
- Cut meats with bandsaw, knife, slicer, and other equipment necessary
- Grind meats
- Assist in receiving and transferring products between storage and production rooms
- Help prepare meat utilizing standardized recipes
- Wrap, package, and label meat according to company guidelines
- Communicate any issues that arise
- Maintain a clean work area in compliance with sanitation standards and USDA guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Able to read/write/speak in English
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule
- Ability to follow safety standards and protocols
- Ability to safely lift, push/pull up to 100 lbs
- Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer conditions of up to 45 degrees
- Stand for long periods of time
- TB Clearance
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Knowledge of meats is a plus
- Ability to operate equipment safely
