What You Will Do

• Leading the implementation and ongoing management of Palo Alto (primary) and Zscaler (additional) security frameworks.
• Performing thorough security assessments to align our infrastructure with industry best practices and compliance standards.
• Developing robust product documentation, outlining configuration standards, and creating reference designs.
• Acting as an escalation point for complex security incidents, developing strategies for rapid resolution.
• Engaging in knowledge-sharing activities, training new hires, and fostering a culture of security awareness.
• Collaborating with vendors to ensure our security tools are current and address our unique business challenges.
• Undertaking key infrastructure upgrades and implementations such as Firewall setups and global firewall whitelist URL filtering standardization.
• Streamlining documentation processes to ensure compliance with the most recent security policies and overseeing policy cleanup.
• Implementing automated solutions for effective notifications and rule management within our security systems.
• Enhancing change control processes and driving standardization in perimeter security offerings.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Demonstrable experience in the field of network and security engineering, specifically with Palo Alto and/or Zscaler products.
• A track record of successfully managing and resolving high-complexity security issues within a large-scale environment.
• Knowledge of current security best practices, compliance standards, and a clear understanding of how to align infrastructure with these.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of leading projects, engaging with vendors, and fostering teamwork.
• Experience in developing and maintaining technical documentation, product configurations, and reference architectures.
• Ability to provide training and mentorship to new hires and less experienced team members.

What Will Put You Ahead

• 7 years of experience in either support of complex enterprise networks, or management of network security devices like firewalls, proxies, process control networks etc.
• Advanced certifications in Palo Alto Networks and/or Zscaler technologies.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and firewall setups, especially involving Alkira or similar.
• A history of innovation in streamlining processes, automating routine tasks, and improving operational efficiency in security management.
• Proven capacity to manage cross-functional project teams and to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in network automation, design, and usage of scripting technologies Ansible tower, Ansible core, Python, YAML, CloudFormation/Terraform
• Prior understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
