As a Pharmacy Intern, you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, including counting tablets, pouring, labeling, and delivering them. Our Pharmacy Interns assist pharmacists in verifying the accuracy and completeness of medication orders, answer phones, address customer inquiries, and provide information as well as help retrieve prescriptions from veterinarian prescribers, follow up with patients for order clarifications, and perform data entry of valid prescriptions. Core Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications, including counting tablets, pouring, labeling and delivering medications
• Count and fill prescription vials and affix labels on bulk prescription items
• Assist pharmacist in retrieving prescriptions from veterinarian prescribers
• Assist pharmacists with filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy and verifying the accuracy and completeness of medication orders
• Answer phones, address customer inquiries, and provide information to customers
• Assist with inventory management and stocking of supplies
• Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Follow up with patients as needed to clarify questions relating to and provide updates on their orders
• Perform data entry of valid prescriptions
• Run automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medications
• Fill exception trays with appropriate medication
• Work daily with the Operations team to ensure the right medications are put in the right pouches
• Transition orders through different workflow stages from initial dispense through quality control
• Pack and ship completed orders including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser, shipping boxes
• Sort and triage the right boxes to ship at the right time
• Aid the Operations team with receiving, shipping, counting, and packing
• Clean, and help maintain, equipment and work areas

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Massachusetts Pharmacy Internship license
• Currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy technician program

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member
• Demonstrated organization skills and attention to detail
• Ability to recognize and identify patient medications
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a rapidly evolving startup environment
• Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while consistently meeting standards for productivity and quality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter capable of working independently
