Overview of the Accounting Manager position
Industry leadingFortune 500 Company in Central Florida looking for an Accounting Managerto lead an accounting team and assist the director with the operation of thedepartment. Successful candidates will have a CPA and big 4 experience.
What will beexpected of me as Accounting Manager?
- Lead and direct anaccounting team responsible for assisting with the month end close, financialstatement analysis and the maintenance and reconciliation of accounting records
- Oversee thecompletion of complex analytical assignments and preparation of accountingrelated reports
- Support the accountingdirector with analyzing and reporting on general ledger transactions
- Coordinate closelywith the finance teams to ensure complete and accurate accruals and simplifyprocesses
- Have a leadingrole in the company’s efforts to comply with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley
- Maintains on‐goinginteraction with client groups and other functional areas relating toobjectives, deliverables, resource allocation and related matters
- Lead reviews foraccuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accountingclassifications assigned to various records
- Ensure complianceand adherence with controls for internal policies and external regulations
- Direct efforts indeveloping, implementing, and maintaining systems, procedures and policies forthe group
- Leverage systemand technology knowledge to drive simplification efforts
Requirements
What qualifies me for this Accounting Manager position?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Economics; Advanced degree a plus
- 6 years of experience, including big 4 public accounting a plus
- CPA
- Knowledge of accounting systems and applications including SAP, PeopleSoft, CPM/Essbase, Hyperion Financial Management
- Knowledgeable in FASB and SEC requirements, GAAP, tax reporting, accounting practices, and international financial reporting standards
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Experience or proficiency in (SQL) Structured Query Language to manage, develop and maintain databases or applications
- Management experience including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing of projects
- Attention to detail; strong written and verbal communications skills
