Knight Material Technologies is currently seeking a full-time, Mechanical Engineer at their East Canton location. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of mechanical equipment and processes.

Mechanical Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager  

Exempt Position

Responsibilities: 

• Develop, design, and evaluate mechanical systems and components for the plant
• Conduct feasibility studies and analyze the performance of existing systems.
• Collaborate with other engineers and professionals to integrate mechanical systems into overall plant operations.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage projects related to the installation or modification of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure that mechanical systems comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, process engineers, and maintenance personnel.
• Work with vendors and contractors to source materials and services.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, manuals, and engineering drawings.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements.
• Implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.

Requirements

Preferred: 

• Proficiency in CAD software for design and drafting.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. 
• 2 Years of Plant Engineering or Related Experience
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams and presenting technical information.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 35 pounds 
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
• May require travel.
