American Rheinmetall Systems (ARS) is seeking an Accounting Manager for their Biddeford, ME office. A hybrid, flexible schedule (2-3 days in the office) is available. ARS is a US subsidiary of Rheinmetall, a global defense and automotive systems supplier based in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Requirements of the Accounting Manager:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field.
• 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing operation.
• Experience with full accounting cycle and responsibility for GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Ability to manage internal relationships to achieve high level of inter-departmental cooperation and flexible to meet the needs of the parent company for reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of DCAA standards, US Government Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance, and Department of Defense contracts and requirements helpful.
• Candidates must be able to undergo and meet company standards for a background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing. In addition, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain government security clearance.

• This position is part of the accounting team that reports to the Controller. As the accounting manager, you do not have supervisory responsibility, but rather are responsible for managing the accounting processes within the department and serving as a backup for other team members.
• Ensure timely general ledger maintenance, journal entries and reconciliations to meet reporting requirements for the subsidiary as well as reporting to the central accounting office and parent company. Compile monthly financial reporting data for Controller review.
• Manage the Accounts Receivable process from invoicing, processing payments, and reconciling payments with customer statements. Serve as point of contact for resolving A/R issues.
• Work closely with Operations to ensure inventory accuracy and confirm and enter weekly cycle count totals. Partner with Operations to reconcile differences and investigate ways to improve processes and accuracy.
• Work closely with Purchasing and Project Management to evaluate project costs and coding to ensure proper billing and accounting.
• Support process improvement initiatives by providing financial analysis, modeling, and input.
• Work closely with the Controller to meet accounting requirements and take on special projects as needed.
