$1000 annual stipend pro-rated based upon hrs. and date of hire

FUNCTION:

To assist the classroom teacher and building administrator in supporting the educational needs of students with diverse learning needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist teacher in instructional setting with instruction and classroom management.
• Supervise class for short periods of time.
• Organize and manage students work under teacher direction.
• Assist teachers in recording students' work and progress.
• Work directly with students with diverse needs, including health and safety protocols.
• Implement planned activities using teacher designed methods and materials for individual and small groups for instructional support, including those with special needs.
• Supervise a variety of student activities including cafeteria, bus loading and unloading, field trips, hallways and other areas where students gather.
• Prepare and provide clerical support to teacher for instructional materials using various office equipment, resource materials, and AV equipment, copying, faxing, etc.
• Maintain accurate records and gathers information within the scope of District policies and state and federal laws.
• Communicate effectively with teachers.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate’s Degree or pass paraprofessional skills testing prior to employment; High school diploma/equivalent.
• Experience working with children.

SCHEDULE:

6.5 Hours per day/ 32.5 hours per week.

• $15.60 Per hour
