Today, Kittson Healthcare is a twelve-bed acute care federally designated Critical Access Hospital and fifty bed long term care facility which also includes a home healthcare agency, 8 bed assisted living facility and an ambulance service. There is a medical clinic located in the complex as well as a satellite medical clinic in Karlstad, Minnesota. We strive to treat every patient or resident that walks through our doors with highly personalized care. Our patients are not just numbers. Job summary:

The Baker will play a crucial role in preparing a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts, to meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents and patients. The Baker will be responsible to follow recipes and dietary guidelines, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards, collaborating with the dietary team for special dietary requirements, monitoring inventory levels, maintaining a clean baking area, and assisting with service during mealtimes and special events. In this role the Baker will also support preparing breakfast meals for residents and patients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiently be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to work effectively as a team member.
  • Familiarity with use of food operation supplies and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately and timely.
  • Basic knowledge of compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Must possess ability to support, encourage and strive for excellent level of food services.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to personalities of residents and/or coworkers and use tact in all forms of communication.
  • High School Graduate or GED. 16 years or older.
  • Experience with food service operations in healthcare setting.
  • Basic understanding of food safety principle and regulations.
  • Must pass MN background check, accompanied with figure printing.
  • Complete TB test within the first 3 weeks of employment.

JOB SCHEUDLE/LOCATION(S):

  • Hallock, MN
  • Full-time or Part-time
  • Shift 5:30am-1:30pm; flexibility for split shifts
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday availability
  • Nursing Home/Long-term care and Hospital setting
